The University of Queensland's Faculty of Medicine Ochsner Clinical School represents a dynamic partnership between two highly ranked and regarded institutions. US citizens or US permanent residents who are admitted to the program study two years of basic sciences in Brisbane, Australia at The University of Queensland. They then spend two years in and around New Orleans, Louisiana at the Ochsner Health System where they complete their core and elective clinical placements. Students graduate with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree granted by the The University of Queensland.  Graduates are eligible for ECFMG certification, to take the USMLEs for the NRMP match, and to practice medicine in all 50 states of the US.

The University of Queensland's academic calendar runs from February to November.

As the UQ-Ochsner MD program commences in Semester 1 each year, students will begin studies in February 2021.
